About the Speaker:
Mallory Casperson is the Co-Founder and CEO of Cactus Cancer Society. Cactus Cancer Society is a nonprofit organization providing online support programs to young adult cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. Her career began in Aerospace Engineering where she received an MS degree and half a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as working with the Air Force Research Lab and with NASA. After facing cancer as a young adult caregiver and then as a patient, Mallory founded Cactus Cancer Society. She has worked to put Cactus Cancer Society at the forefront of survivorship digital health, developing programming that offers young adults facing cancer unparalleled accessibility to face-to-face peer connection, while simultaneously expanding supportive and creative programming to the inpatient or isolated, young adult cancer patient population. She is a recipient of the 40 Under 40 In Cancer award. In her spare time, Mallory loves being outside with her partner, young kiddo, wild rescue dog, or snuggling with their tiny bearded dragon.
